Knife Halle aux grains

< >

The simplest, most modest expression of the knife object could be defined as a cutting edge - a blade - to which would be added the possibility for the hand - a handle - to grasp it without being bruised.
Abandoning abundance and chatter, the knife object by its reduction to a cutting edge, demands on the contrary a certain silence, a certain restraint.
We wanted to keep any expression of technical sophistication at bay while confronting the extreme complexity of the simple; we sought this reduction until the form, the structural principle and the implementation meet, such that this knife is intelligible by all, such as one could manufacture it or repair it in the workshop behind the house .
We would like the knife, intimate companion of the meal, to extend the imagination of the place, towards the country of Aubrac and the peasant cosmos; that of a humble, modest existence, set back, where grace is woven into a just relationship between earth and heaven.

Textile Museum

< >

For the Museum of Textile and Decorative Arts of Lyon, we designed a signage furniture system that allows to guide and inform the visitors in the museum. The moiré patterns of the suspended canvases create plays of light and movement that animate the visitors journey. We have proposed mobile furniture to renew the exhibition routes regularly. They are made up of 3 elements: a steel structure, pieces of fabric and pieces of wood which are information carriers. All of these elements can be combined and removed to support the change in the content of the exhibitions.

Metronome DS

< >

The DS Metronome Technology project is about creating a full range of Hi-Fi devices for an audiophile audience. The Metronome Technology Company is designing and manufacturing by hand all the material to ensure highest quality of sound. The range includes a player, a server, a converter, a power supply and a remote control designed like a system. Also, each device must make its function readable in the sound production chain. The project's approach has been to give a sensitive face to an electronic technology. A singular piano keyboard device for controlling the devices engages a gesture that reconnects to the touch of an analog musical instrument. Another major challenge lies in the production scenario in which 90% of the parts produced are common to all types of devices. The overall structure is designed as a chassis on which specific parts are placed according to the nature and role of the device in the range. The economic approach of the design articulates an optimization of the processes with the qualities of an artisanal manufacture.
